Zip up or shut up. This could easily be the tagline for menswear over the past few years, thanks to the zip-up jacket’s unstoppable rise. Even if you haven’t worn or bought a bomber in recent seasons, you won’t have failed to notice that it’s fast becoming this generation’s blazer. This post is all about the key pieces from the recently launched collection ‘Nocturnal’ by Mr Button. The adjective Nocturnal comes from the Late Latin nocturnalis, which means “Belonging to the night”. You’ve probably heard of nocturnal animals, like bats and fireflies, who sleep during the day and come out to play when the sun goes down. The whole collection revolves around the same concept. I’m wearing this season’s most on point trend, The Bomber jacket in Velvet! This one is made with a great matte-finish velvet, so It does not scream yet the statement fabric that will get you noticed. The blue smoking jacket is for those rock moments when you want a little edge that doesn’t scream punk or goth, velvet is here, offering a touch of glam. A great alternative to a leather jacket, velvet bombers play a melodic rock ballad with all that metal and zip detail. Velvet looks best when you choose one smart, tailored piece worn with contrasting fabrics. With that, those of you who have been following me for the longest time would know how much I love Mr Button for the fit   they offer. The structured fit gives you a sharp edge at all the right places. Here in this look I’m keeping it very basic and simple by layering the jacket over a crewneck t-shirt & a pair of black joggers which is also by Mr button in the bottom with black sneakers. This look is casual, chic and perfect for street style. This athletic staple is a clear example of how sportswear has impacted luxury fashion, ushering in menswear’s new dress-down era in the process. This look can be one of the many ways to style this jacket. I personally like to create street style looks so I chose to pair it in this way. You can also experiment different looks depending on your personal style.
